Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of south Mequon is a member of Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

For over 155 years people have been gathering around the Word of God and the sacraments at Trinity Lutheran Church-South Mequon. Since 1902, people have been gathering in our present church for worship, for instruction in the Word of God, for comfort in time of crises, and for rejoicing at baptisms, confirmations and weddings.

Erected in 1902 our present building has served as the gathering place for families and individuals since that time, right up to the present. Our present church was dedicated to the glory of God on October 12, 1902.

It has seen a couple of additions and renovations through the years. The first of these came in 1924. This also included the addition of electric lights to the worship area. At this time new decorative painting was done as well. In 1933, an addition was built on the west side of the church. This addition provided a meeting room for boards, lavatories and boiler room in the basement. At this time a new steam heating system was also installed.

1949 was a memorable year for our house of worship. That year art glass windows were installed in the church. These windows were fashioned by the well known German artist, Karl Stoettner. That same year, the Ladies' Aid society was able to raise the necessary funds to have the interior of the church redecorated.

In 1964 we were blessed with building a parish hall of 6,800 square feet. It contains Sunday School rooms, office space, restrooms, a spacious kitchen and a 40'x60' fellowship hall. The formal dedication took place on January 10, 1965.

In the early and mid-1970 the interior was again redecorated.

In the late 1990’s work began to restore the interior of the church to its historic appearance. The work was spaced out over several years, but included refinishing the pews and hardwood floors, plaster repair and stencil work. The entire exterior of the building was also repaired and restored including a new roof, tuck pointing, steeple repair as well as new lighting to both the interior and exterior of the building. A ramp was added to make access easier and we recently added fully accessible restrooms in the church building as well as air conditioning.
